Peer Review Process For Authors

Peer Review Process For Authors

1. Submission of paper
The corresponding or submitting author submits the paper to the journal. Submission to this journal occurs online and you will be guided step by step through the creation and uploading of your files. Please submit your article via https://www.journalagent.com/kocaelitip/
The system automatically converts source files to a single PDF file of the article, which is used in the peer-review process. Please note that even though manuscript source files are converted to PDF files at submission for the review process, these source files are needed for further processing after acceptance. All correspondence, including notification of the Editor's decision and requests for revision, takes place by e-mail.

2. Status of manuscript
Authors can check the status of a manuscript at any time in the submission system. Authors will also be notified by email when a decision is made.

Waiting for Secretary

The journal has received the submission and is screening it for basic technical requirements by Managing Editor

At Editor

The manuscript is under editorial consideration by one or more members of the Editorial Board who will decide whether or not to send it out for peer review.
The paper may be rejected without being reviewed any further at this stage.

On Review

The handling editor has begun to invite peer reviewers to evaluate the submission. As responses are received, further invitations are issued, if necessary, until the required number of acceptances is obtained –this should be at least 2. Potential reviewers consider the invitation against their own expertise, conflicts of interest and availability. They then accept or decline. If possible, when declining, they might also suggest alternative reviewers.

Reviewed

The reviews have been received

Minor Revision

This decision means that the paper requires minor changes for it to be accepted. When a paper receives a minor revision decision, it might not be sent for a second round of peer review; usually, the editor goes through the revisions and gives a final approval. However, it should be kept in mind that an ‘accept with minor revisions’ decision does not guarantee acceptance. The paper will be accepted only if the editor is satisfied with the changes made.

Major Revision

An editor arrives at this decision when a manuscript needs to be substantially improved before it can be accepted. The author has to submit the revised manuscript along with a point-by-point response to the reviewer comments. The revised manuscript is likely to be sent for a second round of peer review. Usually, the paper is sent to the same set of reviewers who had reviewed it the first time, but the editor may choose to send it to a different set of reviewers. In case the author is unable to address all the comments in a satisfactory manner, further revisions may be required, or, in the worst case, the paper might be rejected.

Waiting for Final Decision

The editors are discussing and finalizing the decision. Very rarely, editors may need to seek additional reviewers at this stage.

3. Manuscript Withdrawal

Our journal adheres to the principles of The Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). According to these standards, if an authors request to withdraw their already submitted article for publishing to a journal, a letter signed by all authors stating their request and reasons for withdrawal must be sent to journal editor regardless of the stage of the review process. Because, the publication process for an individual manuscript begins with the assignment of a register number and it can be withdrawn only with the permission of the editor after a manuscript has been registered.

4. Accepted Manuscripts
If your manuscript has been accepted, the paper is sent to production. If the article is rejected or sent back for either major or minor revision, the handling editor should include constructive comments from the reviewers to help the author improve the article. At this point, reviewers should also be sent an email or letter letting them know the outcome of their review. If the paper was sent back for revision, the reviewers should expect to receive a new version, unless they have opted out of further participation. However, where only minor changes were requested this follow-up review might be done by the handling editor. A doi number will be assigned to all accepted manuscripts.
